#Dear Kakak  Munifa, #Dear Kakak Mufida

I look at you and I have just realized that time is flying so fast. It was just like yesterday, I saw you playing on a swing. It was just like yesterday, you asked me to give you a companion while you were studying in kindergarten school. It was just like yesterday, you cried because I did not allow you to eat as many candies as you wanted. The fact, you are older now. Happy birthday to you my sweetheart! You are 21 years old now and you are fully responsible for your own decisions.

And whatever life has in store for you, I hope that you remember these things:

At the age of you now, every decision you make will have effects on your future, so think twice when you would decide about things. Learn to say no to something you don’t really want to do, take time to ask yourself about what you really wanted rather than immediately responding to a question or a request.

Your twenties are about learning how to learn and gathering all the tools you needed to place them in your shed. Never stop reading. Never stop learning; learning from others through various forms of media and the world around you.

If you never try, you’ve already failed. So regardless of how afraid you are of something, give it a shot. You have nothing to lose and never tell yourself you can’t, believe yourself that you can be whatever you want to be because what you believe is what you become.

Don’t compare yourself to other people. Whether trying to figure out how good you actually were or trying to make yourself feel better. You have to know that comparison often dredges up some unpleasant feelings. It will make you unhappy. Everybody has their own path and enjoy your process.

Get rid of the toxic people in your life. Being an adult can be tricky, but having the right people at your side can make all the difference in the world. If there are people in your life sucking the happiness out of you, separate yourself from them for good. You don’t need that kind of negativity in your life.

Kakak, remember this also, your siblings are your lifeline. Friends will come and go, but your siblings are forever. Lean on one another during the hard times. Cry on each other’s shoulders for comfort. Call them first when good things happen. And never judge their choices, behavior, or decisions harshly because one day you will need them to be just as non-judgmental when you do something questionable. Never ever take that bond you have for granted.

Be happy my sweetheart. You will always be my little girls, spread your wings, take the world head-on and be the strong, independent woman you were born to be. I love you.

Bunda
